We are pleased to announce that Faulkners are now fully certified by the Microgeneration Certification Scheme for the installation of Micro-CHP systems.
Micro combined heat and power, or micro-CHP for short, is the process of generating both electricity and heat from the same source - close to where it is to be used. Combined heat and power technologies have long been used to reduce energy costs and carbon emissions in commercial buildings, and has been available for some time in the domestic European market.
The Baxi Ecogen is the first widely available wall-hung domestic micro CHP boiler in the UK. It is the first micro-CHP product to be accredited through the Microgeneration Certification Scheme, making it eligible for the Government’s Feed-in Tariff. Faulkners have already been involved in installing the Baxi Ecogen Micro-CHP boiler in domestic properties for housing association clients.
At the same time as providing efficient gas central heating and hot water like any other boiler, the Baxi Ecogen also produces up to 1kW of electricity per hour. Any electricicy that you don’t use in your home, you could sell back to your electricity supplier for an agreed tax-free and inflation linked price.
Contact Faulkners for more information on Micro-CHP boiler technology and find out how you can help promote clean energy and save on your energy bills.
